I'm very grateful for my current life and the many wonderful (and even a few not-so-wonderful, haha) life-experiences that have come my way. The Lord has truly been good to me. Even though my wife officially and abruptly departed in 2010 (I'm actually thinking she started the process in 2007), I was able to experience being a husband, I have 6 children I interact with very often, I'm a member of a godly, bible-based Anabaptist church, I have decent health -- and the list goes on and on!!
There's much joy in my heart, but I also have a measure of sadness because not everyone is going to be accepted into Heaven. I desire to pray and fast for lost souls to be convicted of sin, for them to have godly sorrow, and to repent by turning away from all that displeases our Lord Jesus.
Here are a few verses that seem to describe our society. As followers of Jesus, may we continue to pray and fast for our family members and neighbors that are being held captive by sin.
II Timothy 3: 1-5
1 You should know this, Timothy, that in the last days there will be very difficult times.
2 For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred.
3 They will be unloving and unforgiving; they will slander others and have no self-control. They will be cruel and hate what is good.
4 They will betray their friends, be reckless, be puffed up with pride, and love pleasure rather than God.
5 They will act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly. Stay away from people like that!
