Acts 4:13

Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.

My Mom's Obituary

Posted on April 23rd 2023 at 05:51 PM Permalink

It is with a sad but thankful heart that I share this obituary.  My mom was 82, and her health had begun to decline over the past several years.  However, she was alert and able to talk until the very end.  She had Dying Grace --- something my dad insisted that we will receive when it's our turn to die --- but something I had never witnessed first hand.

My children, my wife, and myself were privileged to witness Dying Grace or Dying Peace that the Lord gave to my mom during her final 24 hours of life.  She was clear-headed and able to know who was with her, she requested hymns for us to sing, and she insisted on giving my wife Judy a hug.  What great memories we will cherish of her during life and during her crossing over to Heaven.

A nice visit today....

Posted on April 19th 2023 at 10:41 PM Permalink

My mom has been in the hospital for a week.  My boys and I had a nice visit with her today.  We talked, we prayed, we held hands, we exchanged "I love you's" --- She did not have to tell me that she loves me, her actions have proved it my entire life.

She is very weak, and tired, but she still found strength to smile for a photo.

I don't know when her Divine Appointment will be, but I know she loves Jesus, and when her time comes, I pray that it is a smooth walk across Jordan, into the arms of her Lord and Savior!!

Revelation 21:4, 5

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.

He Is Risen

He Is Risen!!

He is Risen Indeed!!

This dialogue has been a part of my entire adult life, and I enjoy seeing who can be the first to send out a text or say it in person each year.

Praise the Lord, He is risen indeed.  And Because He lives -- I can have confidence in my salvation, confidence that He will take care of me, confidence that everything that happens in my life has His stamp of approval.

Today, my 3 boys and 3 adult children and my favorite son-in-law (there's just one, haha) and I attended a Sunrise Service at 6:30am hosted by the Auburn Church of God (yes, it's cold every year) --- then a delicious full breakfast, and the normal morning service at 10:30am.

Then we had another delicious full meal with friends and family at 4pm.  Then the boys and I helped my mom for a bit this evening.

What a wonderful day we all enjoyed --- Family, Friends, Music, Food, Fellowship and worshipping Jesus.  I am so, so very blessed.

Rejoice In The Lord song

The young man, Isaiah Rodriguez, in this video passed away last week while on a summer Mission trip.  Praise the Lord for his clear testimony that indeed he was a follower of Jesus.

by Ron Hamilton (aka Patch the Pirate)

God never moves without purpose or plan

When trying His servant and molding a man

Give thanks to the LORD though your testing seems long

In darkness He giveth a song

I could not see through the shadows ahead

So I looked at the cross of my Savior instead

I bowed to the will of the Master that day

Then peace came and tears fled away

Now I can see testing comes from above

God strengthens His children and purges in love

My Father knows best, and I trust in His care

Through purging more fruit I will bear

O Rejoice in the LORD

He makes no mistake

He knoweth the end of each path that I take

For when I am tried And purified

I shall come forth as gold

Look at Jesus

Corrie ten Boom:

When I look at the world, I get distressed.

When I look at myself, I get depressed.

But when I look at Jesus, I find rest.

Psalm 100

Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands.

Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing.

Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.

Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.

For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.

Philippians 2:15

That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke,

in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;

Tanker truck passing through Minersville.  The boys and I are in the silver car under the letter "h".

I'm Too Far lyrics

The Collingsworth Family

Many miles now lie behind me since I started at the cross
There sin's heavy load, my guilt and shame I lost
There I found a friend in Jesus -- hand in hand we walk each day
He is guiding me to Heaven -- from His side I'll never stray

I'm too far from where I started and too close to where I'm going
To think of ever turning around
For my eyes are fixed on Jesus and I love this Narrow Way
This old world holds no attraction, I'm Heaven bound

As I walk this road toward Heaven -- by the eye of faith I see
All the things God is preparing there for me
Oh I would not want to miss it when Christ my Lord is crowned
This one thing I have determined, I will NEVER turn around!!!!

Nothing Between

Posted on March 28th 2021 at 07:56 PM Permalink

Nothing between my soul and my Savior,

Naught of this world’s delusive dream;

I have renounced all sinful pleasure;

Jesus is mine, there’s nothing between.

Nothing between my soul and my Savior,

So that His blessed face may be seen;

Nothing preventing the least of His favor;

Keep the way clear! Let nothing between.

Nothing between, like worldly pleasure;

Habits of life, though harmless they seem,

Must not my heart from Him ever sever;

He is my all, there’s nothing between.

Nothing between, like pride or station;

Self or friends shall not intervene;

Though it may cost me much tribulation,

I am resolved, there’s nothing between.

Nothing between, e’en many hard trials,

Though the whole world against me convene;

Watching with prayer and much self-denial,

I’ll triumph at last, there’s nothing between.

Highway of Holiness.....

Isaiah 35:8 And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein.

9 No lion shall be there, nor any ravenous beast shall go up thereon, it shall not be found there; but the redeemed shall walk there:

10 And the ransomed of the Lord shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.

 Isaiah 51:11 is a popular chorus:

Therefore the redeemed of the Lord shall return, and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their head: they shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and mourning shall flee away.
