Springtime is almost here

Posted on February 24th 2017 at 07:21 PM Permalink

I know Spring is near when the Geese are returning back to the Pennsylvania area.....or at least flying through the state.

The one group easily had 300 to 400 geese.

"While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease."

I made 13 loaves today for a few friends, and then I made one extra loaf for our house church meal.

Salvation's Song by Stuart Townend

Posted on February 22nd 2017 at 09:34 PM Permalink

A few years ago (it now seems like a distant memory!!), I was struggling with the loss of a very special person in my life --- and in order to move forward, songs became a tool to help me.

This particular song played an important role in moving forward in life.  The lyrics helped to remind me that I'm loved, I'm chosen, I'm hidden/protected -- and I belong to Christ Jesus.

Salvation's Song by Stuart Townend

Loved before the dawn of time,
Chosen by my Maker,
Hidden in my Saviour,
I am His and He is mine,
Cherished for eternity.

When I'm stained with guilt and sin,
He is there to lift me,
Heal me and forgive me;
Gives me strength to stand again,
Stronger than I was before.

So with every breath that I am given
I will sing salvation's song;
And I'll join the chorus of creation
Giving praise to Christ alone.

All the claims of Satan's curse
Lifted through His offering,
Satisfied through suffering;
All the blessings He deserves
Poured on my unworthy soul.

So with every breath that I am given
I will sing salvation's song;
And I'll join the chorus of creation
Giving praise to Christ alone.

Singing glory, honour, wisdom, power
To the Lamb upon the throne;
Hallelujah, I will lift Him high.

Singing glory, honour, wisdom, power
To the Lamb upon the throne;
Hallelujah, I will sing....

With every breath that I am given
I will sing salvation's song;
And I'll join the chorus of creation
Giving praise to Christ alone.

Stars will fade and mountains fall;
Christ will shine forever,
Love's unfading splendour.
Earth and heaven will bow in awe,
Joining in salvation's song.

The God on the Mountain

Posted on January 29th 2017 at 05:46 PM Permalink

The God on the Mountain Youtube

Life is easy, when you're up on the mountain
And you've got peace of mind, like you've never known
But things change, when you're down in the valley
Don't lose faith, for you're never alone

Chorus:
For the God on the mountain, is still God in the valley
When things go wrong, he'll make them right
And the God of the good times, is still God in the bad times
The God of the day, is still God in the night

We talk of faith when up on the mountain
But talk comes easy, when life's at its best
Now its down in the valley, trials and temptations
That's where your faith is really put to the test

Burdens Are Lifted At Calvary

Burdens Are Lifted At Calvary Youtube

  Days are filled with sorrow and care,
  Hearts are lonely and drear;
  Burdens are lifted at Calvary,
  Jesus is very near.

  Chorus
  Burdens are lifted at Calvary,
  Calvary, Calvary,
  Burdens are lifted at Calvary,
  Jesus is very near.

  Cast your care on Jesus today,
  Leave your worry and fear;
  Burdens are lifted at Calvary,
  Jesus is very near.

  Troubled soul, the Saviour can see,
  Ev'ry heartache and tear;
  Burdens are lifted at Calvary
  Jesus is very near.

6-year Employment anniversary

Posted on January 21st 2017 at 10:19 PM Permalink

Today is my 6-year Employment anniversary at Redco/Pathways.

Wow --- those years sure checked off the calendar quickly.

For my first 25-year employment career, I was a Service Technician repairing office machines.

7 years in the Berks - Allentown - Lancaster - Pottsville area and 18 years in the Tri-State area: Philadelphia - New Jersey - Delaware.

I thoroughly enjoyed my 1st career.  I was able to work behind the scenes in court houses, airports, the banking industry, Federal - State and Local government, Fortune 500 companies, etc.

It wasn't on my bucket list to begin a 2nd career, but my estranged wife decided to jump ship 6-1/2 years ago --- so it became necessary to occupy myself in an environment where I could feel needed and useful.

Working in group homes has been a perfect fit for me.  I've made many new friends with staff and clients.

I'm very grateful for my 2nd career.

"But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."

Matthew 6:33

PA Farm Show begins Saturday

It's that time of year again ---- The PA Farm Show begins this Saturday!!  Last year was the 100th Anniversary.

Here's the link for the 2017 Farm Show Schedule.

******************
My kids and I enjoyed our visit to Farm Show #101.  The Butter Sculpture was, as always, very nice.  We enjoyed various kinds of food, we enjoyed seeing all the livestock, and the many different items that were offered for sale.

It was over all too soon, but we'll keep the memory alive by reviewing the photos that we have, and by looking forward to our next year visit to Farm Show #102.

Thanksgiving 2016

In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. I Thessalonians 5:18

My kids and I just finished eating our traditional thanksgiving meal. The main difference this year was that we decided to have (2) 3-pound turkey roasts instead of a full turkey.  Less prep time & less cleanup -- and the taste was just as good, if not better, than a full turkey.

After a time of relaxing, we'll go for a Jeep ride.
